MEDICARE GLOSSARY

What does ANOC stand for in Medicare or health insurance terms?

ANOC stands for "Annual Notice of Change" in the context of health insurance. It is a document that health insurance companies are required to send to their policyholders each year. The ANOC provides information about any changes in coverage, costs, or service areas that will take effect in the upcoming plan year. It is an important document for policyholders to review because it helps them understand how their health insurance plan may be changing and whether it still meets their needs. This allows beneficiaries to make informed decisions about whether to keep their current plan or explore other options during the open enrollment period.

Your Medicare Advantage or Part D plan will send you an annual notice of change (ANOC) in late September. Any modifications to the plan's fees and coverage that will take effect on January 1 of the following year are summarized in the ANOC.
