Health Insurance Permission to Contact the Consumer form

"Permission to Contact" (PTC) is a term used by Medicare sales agents to refer to the permission granted by an individual to be contacted by an agent or insurer to discuss Medicare-related insurance options. In other words, when a consumer grants permission to be contacted, they are allowing the Medicare sales agents to contact them via phone, email, or other means to discuss Medicare Advantage, prescription drug plans, and other Medicare-related insurance products. The health insurance agent must have a form signed by the beneficiary BEFORE any discussion relating to Medicare, Medicaid, or any individual health insurance can begin. This is a federal law.

This is a strictly enforced federal regulation that all ethical health insurance agents must adhere to. The "Scope of Appointment" (SOA) can be combined with the "Permission to Contact".

It's important to note that granting permission to be contacted is entirely voluntary, and individuals can choose to opt out of these communications at any time. Medicare sales agents are also required to follow strict guidelines regarding their sales practices and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

Health insurance agents can lose their licenses if these regulations are not followed.
